The beneficiaries will receive these pensions from July. HIV victims are not only unable to work fully, but also face high medical expenses every month. The government has taken this decision keeping this situation in mind.

Pensions for HIV victims
This assistance will be provided under the Cheyutha scheme to improve the quality of life of HIV victimssuffering from poverty. Already, 34,421 people are receiving a pension of Rs. 2016 per month. The state is spending Rs. 6.93 crore monthly for this. No new pensions have been sanctioned in the HIV category after August 2022. However, recently, 14,084 newly registered people under the auspices of the Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TGSACS) were granted pensions through SERP after confirming their eligibility. District-wise, the number of eligible candidates is Hyderabad 3,019, Nalgonda 1,388, Khammam 954, Suryapet 931, Karimnagar 833, Adilabad 482, Bhadradri Kothagudem 556, Hanmakonda 825, Jagityala 306, Jangaon 228, Kamareddy 702, Mahabubnagar 452, Nizamabad 528, Peddapalli 567, Sangareddy 1242, Siddipet 527, Vikarabad 544. However, officials said that not a single new person has been registered in Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Gadwal, Mancherial, Medak, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Nirmal, Ranga Reddy and other districts. The estimated cost for these new beneficiaries for this financial year is Rs. 28.40 crore, and the necessary funds are ready with the government, officials have clarified. While 4020 dialysis patients have already been granted pensions this month, these sources have thanked the government for granting pensions to HIV victims.
