Anganwadi: Big good news for Anganwadi assistants

Hyderabad. The state government has announced good news for Anganwadi Center Assistants. The Women and Child Welfare Department has taken an important decision to increase the maximum age limit for promotion of Anganwadi Assistants as Anganwadi Teacher from 45 years to 50 years.

Women and Child Welfare Minister signed the relevant file

State Women and Child Welfare Minister Dr. Dansari Anasuya Seethakka signed the related file. This decision will give an opportunity to about 4322 Anganwadi assistants aged between 45 and 50 years across the state to be promoted as teachers. Although earlier there were no promotion opportunities for assistants after crossing the age of 45, now they will get an opportunity to get promoted again. Seethakka submitted a report to the officials as per the request of Anganwadi Assistant Associations stating that there is no obstacle in giving teacher promotion to eligible assistants below the age of 50 years.

There is no problem in promoting eligible assistants above 45 years of age

In view of increasing the retirement age of Anganwadi teachers from 60 to 65 years, it was suggested that assistants who are promoted as teachers at the age of 50 can continue their duties for another 15 years. The minister signed the file after officials clarified that there is no problem in granting promotion to eligible assistants above the age of 45. Official orders in this matter will be issued soon.

Thousands of Anganwadi assistants across the state expressed happiness

The decision has been cheered by thousands of Anganwadi assistants across the state. They expressed their gratitude to the minister on the occasion. They said Seethakka has done justice to them. The assistants had earlier complained that they were losing promotions as teachers due to age limit.
