Telangana: Heavy rains will continue, IMD warning
Hyderabad. Bad weather conditions are expected to continue for the next two to three days, with the Hyderabad Meteorological Department on Wednesday issuing a heavy rainfall alert for about 15 districts.

Heavy rain warnings have beenissuedfor Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Medak and Kamareddy districts. IMD-Hyderabad has also said that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely at isolated places in all districts of Telangana. Strong winds with speed of 30-40 kmph are also very likely at isolated places in all districts.
85.3 mm rain in Garla of Mahbubabad
On the second day of bad weather conditions, from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning, people in Hyderabad faced intermittent drizzle and cloudy sky, while heavy rains were recorded in the districts. Garla in Mahabubabad received 85.3 mm of rain, followed by Burgampahad in Bhadradri at 72.3 mm, while Singareni Khammam recorded 62 mm of rain. In the Greater Hyderabad region, Sheikhpet recorded a maximum of 43.8 mm, followed by Banjara Hills at 43 mm, Khairtabad at 40 mm and Gunfoundry and Malakpet at 37 mm. According to the IMD-Hyderabad forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers will continue to occur in all parts of Telangana till July 9.

High speed car fell into Suraam lake
Hyderabad. In a bizarre incident on Wednesday, a speeding car went out of control and rammed into Katta Maisamma Cheruvu at Suraram on the outskirts of the city. No casualties were reported and it is suspected that the accident was caused due to negligent driving on the part of the driver. The accident occurred when the car was going from Dulapally to Shapur Nagar. According to information, when the car reached the lake shore, the driver lost control of the steering and the car hit the iron railing on the lake shore. The car fell into the lake at the same speed. However, the occupants of the car escaped safely in the accident.
Soon after the incident, the passengers abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. On receiving information from a motorist, a police team reached the spot and pulled out the car with the help of a crane and took it to the police station. Police are investigating whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
