Deep concern was also expressed over the deteriorating situation in Myanmar

They also expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in Myanmar. The Quad foreign ministers expressed deep concern over the sudden shortage and future dependence on key supply chains, especially critical minerals. In this context, they were referring to China's policy.

Quad will launch three campaigns

This meeting of the Quad is also being seen as a preparation for the meeting of top leaders to be held in India after a few months. Three important decisions have been taken in this meeting which will also have a positive impact on India's interests.

In view of the increasing use of precious metals in technology-based advanced industries, the Quad Critical Minerals Initiative has been announced. One of its objectives is to eliminate dependence on China in critical minerals. Under this initiative, the four countries will explore precious metals in the world in mutual partnership, exploit them and formulate strategies for their use.

Help will also be given to other countries of the Indo-Pacific region

The second step, the Quad will be in the form of Indo-Pacific Logistics Network. Under this, there will be mutual help in improving maritime security and at the same time, help will be given to other countries of the Indo-Pacific region.

The third initiative is about the establishment of Quad ports. This is being seen as the most ambitious campaign of the Quad countries. A meeting of these countries will be held in Mumbai this year regarding this. Under this, ports will be built for business and military purposes on which these countries and their partner countries can completely rely.

Work will be done to stop illegal marine activities

Additionally, the Quad is expanding maritime law enforcement cooperation, which will help prevent illicit maritime activities, including piracy, drug trafficking, border security violations, and illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
