Work going on on the electrical sub-station etc. on the south side

Hyderabad. The redevelopment work of Secunderabad Railway Stationisgoing on at a fast pace, with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) building already completed. Construction work has started and work is underway on air concourse, multi-level car parking, foot over bridge, lift, main building on the north side and electrical sub-station on the south side, etc. Construction of the new RPF building has been completed under the ongoing redevelopment project at the railway station. It is one of the completed components along with a temporary booking office, while other works such as basement construction on the south side, foundation work and new foot over bridge at Kazipet end are also in progress.

Two electrical substations will be constructed

SCR officials said that most of the construction work related to the foundation on the south side has been completed. As part of the redevelopment works, the work was awarded to Girdharilal Construction Private Limited at a cost of about Rs 720 crore to be completed by the end of 2025 or the first quarter of 2026. Two electrical substations of 33 kV capacity will be built in place of the existing 11 kV to meet the demand of the station. The redeveloped station will have a 6-floor multi-level car parking in the northern part of the station building. Currently, more than 50 per cent of the foundation and other works have been completed.

There will be world class facilities for railway passengers

Senior officials of SCR said that the redevelopment work is being planned in such a way that passengers face minimum inconvenience. They said that the new station building will have modern architecture and world-class facilities for railway passengers. Railway officials said that the progress of the construction work is being constantly monitored and instructions have been given to carry out all the construction work keeping in mind all safety measures.

Minor girl missing from Secunderabad railway station

A minor girl who had come to catch a train at Secunderabad railway station went missing on Tuesday, creating a stir. At the time of the incident, the 16-year-old girl had reached the railway station with her family members to catch a train to go to her native place in Bihar. According to the information, while her family members were waiting, the girl went to buy a bottle of water at a nearby food stall on the platform and went missing.

When her family members noticed that she did not return for a long time, they searched for her in the surrounding areas but could not find her. Based on the complaint of the family, Gopalapuram police have registered a case of kidnapping and started investigation. It is learned that when the police teams examined the CCTV footage of the surrounding area, it was found that the girl was going towards Alpha Hotel located outside the railway station from platform number 5. Efforts are on to find her as soon as possible.
