Mahabubabad: Tragedy in Mahabubabad district.. Unable to bear the harassment, a married woman committed suicide.

A tragic incident that took place in Mulkanur, Garla Mandal, Mahabubabad District has shocked the locals. On one hand, the suspicion of her husband, and on the other hand, the harassment of a young man who claimed to love her. They shattered the life of a married woman. Torn between the two, she took a tough decision. Unable to bear their torture, she committed suicide. According to the police, Shailaja, a resident of Pindiprolu, Tirumalayapalem Mandal, Khammam District, was married to Edula Satish Kumar, a resident of Mulkanur, Garla Mandal, Mahabubabad District, eight years ago. The couple has two children. Some years ago, K. Sriram, an army employee who studied with Shailaja, met her in Pindiprolu. Since then, Sriram started harassing her by saying that he loved her. He forced her to leave her children and come to him.

Earlier, a panchayat was held in Pindiprolu in the presence of elders and Sriram was warned about this matter. However, there was no change in his behavior. Due to Sriram's harassment, her husband SathishKumargrew suspicious of Shailaja. He started harassing her physically and mentally. Shailaja was deeply distressed by this harassment from both sides. On June 26 (Wednesday), she consumed rat poison and fell seriously ill. She was initially admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad. As her condition worsened, she was shifted to another private hospital in Mahabubabad. She died while undergoing treatment there on Tuesday night (July 1).

Shailaja's mother filed a complaint with the Garla police on Wednesday, accusing her husband, Edula Satish Kumar, and Sriram of Pindiprolu of being responsible for her daughter's death.
