Earlier, it was said that these sessions would end on August 12. But now they have been extended for another week . The government is planning to introduce important bills. Among them are laws allowing the private sector to enter the nuclear energy sector. It is planning to make amendments in the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act and the Atomic Energy Act. It seems that this week-long period has been extended to implement the announcement made in the Union Budget.
Opposition demands – pressure on the Center on security and national issues
The opposition is demanding that special sessions of Parliament be held to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor during these monsoon sessions. They have also demanded clarification on US President Donald Trump's comment on a war between India and Pakistan. They have also insisted on the phone conversation between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this context, the monsoon sessions are likely to be acrimonious.
