Temperatures exceed 40C in France 400 hectares burned
Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli said that fires raged for a second day in the western province of Izmir in Turkey, and that the disaster was caused by strong winds.The Meteorological Department predicts that maximum temperatures will be recorded in France on June 30 and July 1.On June 29, a fire broke out in the southwestern Odd division, burning 400 hectares of forest land. An orange alert was declared in the areas and people were evacuated early. A large number of helicopters and fire engines were deployed to control the fire danger.
