It is well known that every year the central government presents the annual budget in Parliament. In this sequence, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has created a new record by presenting the budget consecutively for 7 times. This time, she will present the budget for the 8th time. The budget will be presented in the Lok Sabha at 11 AM. However, every time, it is not only the financial allocations that attract attention, but also the sarees Nirmala Sitharaman wears. She has been wearing special sarees during the budget sessions. She chooses sarees that reflect the culture, traditions, and elegance of India. She particularly prefers handloom sarees, which she often wears during the budget presentations. In the 2025 budget, she showcased her love for handlooms once again by wearing a cream-colored saree with a golden border.
Paintings related to the Madhubani art form from Bihar were seen on Nirmala Sitharaman's saree. This led to immediate discussions on social media about her budget saree. The saree she wore today was given by Padma Shri awardee Dulari Devi in 2021. Previously, Nirmala Sitharaman visited Madhubani for a credit outreach activity at the Mithila Art Institute, where she met Dulari Devi. It appears that the saree gifted by Dulari Devi was worn by her during the budget presentation today. Since the NDA government came to power for the second consecutive term in 2019, Nirmala Sitharaman has been presenting the budget as the Finance Minister. During the interim budget of 2024, she chose a handloom saree. She was seen wearing a magenta-bordered silk saree with white and gold motifs.
