There will be a debate on BC census and reservation on March 18, followed by discussion on the budget on March 21. The session will conclude with discussion on various bills, including the appropriation bill, which will be approved on March 27.

Harish Rao demanded to extend the budget session by 20 days

Former minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao has demanded that the budget session of the Telangana Assembly be extended by at least 20 days. Speaking to media after attending the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting of the Assembly, Harish Rao said his party urged the government to allot adequate time for discussions on important public issues. He accused the chief minister of influencing the speaker to not give the opposition a fair chance to speak. Harish Rao insisted that the BRS should be allotted time in proportion to its numbers in the Assembly, which was agreed upon.

Request for discussion on various issues

The BRS MLA requested discussions on farmers' issues, drinking water concerns, and irrigation projects such as Sumakisala, Peddavagu, Vattem pump house, and the SLBC accident. He urged the ministers to attend the session with solutions to these issues. Harish Rao also highlighted concerns about the use of Krishna river water, claiming that the Telangana government has failed to protect the state's interests while Andhra Pradesh continues to use the water.

Demand to allocate funds to pay outstanding dues

He demanded a discussion on the non-implementation of the six guarantees promised by the government and the rise in bars, liquor shops, and belt shops. Additionally, Harish Rao called for a debate on the free LRS guarantee, the neglected Kaleshwaram project restoration, unemployment concerns, and the release of funds for outstanding bills to MPTC sarpanches and small contractors.
