TTD: Is TTD's innovative idea feasible?!

Controversy ahead of implementation of free insurance facility

Tirumala: Is the innovative idea being taken by TTD to provide free insurance to up to one lakh devotees coming to Tirumala feasible? Questions are being asked. This idea has become a financial burden on TTD and has become a topic of discussion among TTD employees. There are differing opinions on the condition of devotees who reach the hill directly during the normal Sarva Darshan and come to Srivari Darshan through the queue lines outside the temple that stretch for kilometers and through the Vaikuntam 2 queue complex. The scheme is being drafted to provide compensation to the victims in case of accidents, such as attacks or deaths by wild animals while devotees are on foot, or due to stampedes in queues during rush hour. However, the TTD governing body discussed the insurance proposal, an innovative idea that is not actually implemented in any Hindu temple, and a heated debate began over it.

TTD: Is TTD's innovative idea feasible?!

Free insurance for devotees.. Is it an innovative idea?

Opinions have been collected from devotees and intellectuals on these proposals as well. However, there are many doubts and doubts regarding their implementation. Up to one lakh devotees come to Tirumala every day from the country and abroad. While up to 80 thousand devotees are allowed to have darshan on normal days, up to 90 thousand are able to have darshan on weekends. In this context, it has become doubtful how to implement insurance for devotees who do not have a darshan ticket or time slot token. So far, TTD has been providing medical treatment at its own expense if devotees who come to Tirumala fall ill or get injured. It provides financial assistance if someone dies on footpaths or due to accidents. Devotees coming to Tirumala are reaching either on the ghat roads or on footpaths. It is known that TTD is providing financial assistance to those devotees if accidents occur on the ghat roads and they lose their lives, or if accidents occur on the footpaths and they die due to wild animals.

Insurance for all devotees is it possible?

Apart from this, everyone usually has some form of insurance facility. However, the current governing body has firmly decided that they need to be provided with more financial assistance. Theidea has come to the conclusion that providing insurance facility is the main thing for this. Up to 80 thousand devotees come to Tirumala every day. Questions are being raised whether it is possible to provide insurance facility to all of them. How TTD itself pays the premium to the insurance companies for the devotees is also an unanswered question. There is a need to collect the details of the devotees, including the nominees in their families. On what basis is TTD providing insurance facility to the devotees, doubts are now being expressed everywhere. Out of the 80 thousand devotees who already come to Tirumala, 25-30 thousand devotees have various types of darshan online, 20 thousand offline, five to six thousand through acquired services, and another five thousand devotees come through various types of recommendation letters. It is now unclear how this insurance scheme will be implemented for all of them. However, it will soon become clear whether this is a publicity stunt for the governing body's brand or a financial burden on the devotees.
