TG Degree: Opportunity for 'non-locals' to study in Telangana Degree College
he Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has given good news to non-locals who want to do a degree in Telangana.
The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has given good news to non-locals who want to do a degree in Telangana. TSCHE Chairman Acharya V. Balikishta Reddy has clarified that non-local students will also be given a chance in the spot admissions conducted by colleges for admission to degree courses. He made this known while responding to an article recently published in a private channel on the issue of non-locals in degree studies.Currently, the three-phase seat allocation process of Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) has already been completed. He stated that the final DOST admissions will be conducted after the last phase of counseling for engineering is over, and then spot admissions will be held for the remaining seats. Non-local students can also get admissions in these spot admissions, but when only one seat is left in a college, both local and non-local studentsIf there is a competition, first priority will be given to local students. This decision has come as a great relief to many non-local students, especially those from neighboring states, who wish to pursue higher education in Telangana.
Solution to the problem of non-local students
TG Degree: TSCHE has paid special attention to the problem of Telangana students studying in Andhra Pradesh facing difficulties in getting admission to a degree. Hundreds of students from Khammam, Suryapet, Gadwal and other districts have met the Higher Education Council and Dost officials and expressed their grievances that they do not have a chance to get admission to a degree. While it was previously clarified that the GO 15 issued by the government on admissions in higher education is applicable to degree education and that there is no chance for non-locals, they have been given a chance in spot admissions recently. This can be said to be a big solution to the long-standing problem of students. Many students from Telangana have studied in various parts of Andhra Pradesh for several years because there are educational institutions in neighboring districts and nearby, and they also have relatives there. Students from Khammam, Kothagudem, Suryapet, Gadwal and other districts have studied in various parts of Andhra Pradesh. This has now become a problem for their locality. In order to be recognized as local students in higher education, there is a requirement that they have studied in Telangana from class six to intermediate. Thus, this problem arose for those who studied in neighboring districts of Andhra Pradesh after class six. Now that all these problems have been resolved, the path to degree education has been paved for thousands of students.
Future plans
This decision taken by TSCHE will help in further expanding higher education in Telangana and providing equal opportunities to students from all walks of life. By providing opportunity to non-locals in spot admissions, there will be an opportunity to not only fill the vacant seats but also bring more diversity in the education system. It is hoped that this move will give a new direction to the higher education sector of the state. This is a big boon for the students of the border districts between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This decision will not only ensure the future of the students, but will also further simplify the process of admissions in higher education.
